CAFOD East Africa Crisis: How you have helped.

Thanks to your generous donations, we are helping thousands of people facing the crisis in East Africa.
What your money has already provided:
Ethiopia
Emergency food aid for more than 24,500 people
Clean water for more than 18,000 people, and water-points that will deliver clean water to 72,000 more.
We have also bought more than 9,500 weak animals that would otherwise die, ensuring an income for the pastoralists who own them, and supplying fresh meat to more than 24,000 people
Kenya
Food rations for more than 3,300 people, and supplementary food to help more than 800 malnourished children and breast-feeding mothers survive the drought.
Water-points that will deliver clean water to more than 30,000 people.
New livestock or veterinary support benefiting more than 14,000 people.
South Sudan:
Emergency food packs for more than 30,000 people
Somalia
Emergency food aid for thousands of vulnerable people in some of the worst-affected areas of Somalia.
We are also helping people find alternative ways of making a living, as well as distributing drought-resistant seeds and running “cash-for-work” schemes that allow people to earn money by working on projects that help their communities.
“There is no question that we have a very desperate situation and it is deteriorating rapidly. We urgently call to our brothers and sisters in Britain and across the world to help us in this time of need” – Bishop Peter Kihara, northern Kenya
